Daily Chess Puzzle for May 17, 2011

Okay guys,

For all I do for you guys, it seems to me that I should be able to make illegal moves in order to get checkmate.  I'm kidding.

I screwed guys and I'm sorry.

I posted a variation that definitely works, and I think betancourtjo's solution also works if I followed it correctly.

Note to self: Create puzzles then drink heavily - NOT the other way around.  ;-)

Set the Table Properly Before You Eat

Goal: White Moves to Gain Advantage
Difficulty: Medium
Challenge: White has amassed his power on the 7th rank, but does he know how to maximize it. Do you? What are White's best moves to gain an advantage?

Set the Table Properly Before You Eat

(Give me a Hint | Show me the Answer)

Cheers!
